We all are familiar with the one punch man anime series. It is very popular for its main character's personality, funny vibes, and crazy action scenes.

Here we are with the top 10 amazing facts of fan favorite One Punch Man anime series that will blow your mind. So, let's get started.

Main Protagonist

The hero for fun, Saitama is the main protagonist of the One Punch Man series. He's actually still pretty young 25 years old. For Saitama's body measurement, he comes in at five feet nine inches or 175 centimeters. He's 154 pounds or 70 kilograms.

Overall, Saitama features a pretty average weight and height for the ranking for one punch man. Will Saitama's strength ever be fully recognized?

The Author

What's most conspicuous about Saitama is his very superficial design. The one responsible for this is the author of the series ONE. ONE noticed cool and flashy main characters everywhere around him.

One punch-man is supposed to be a parody series anyway so ONE decided to accept a really simple-looking main character. ONE believes that a hero's coolness comes from the spirit not in the way that they look. Instead of Saitama looking badass, everyone else around are supposed to be much more detailed and flashy. For example, we can take a glimpse at Sonic or of course Genos.

One Punch Man and Anpanman

One punch man appears to be based off of Anpanman. Anpanman is a character in a childish series for children in Japan. The resemblance for these two should stand out immediately. Saitama's hero costume is  same one as Anpanman's costume. The only one exception is Saitama's cape, which is in white color.

The name of both of these characters are also pretty similar. Saitama's hero name in japanese is written Wapanman. Compare this to Anpanman. It's only off by a single character!

Saitama's Suit

I mentioned earlier about Saitama's simplistic design. Where did Saitama get the inspiration for his McDonalds colored suit ?

We actually get the solution to the present during a special ova episode that was bundled within the 10th volume of the one punch man manga. It was titled Road to Hero. This part shows us a younger Saitama back when he still had hair on his head. Saitama was very busy performing his duties but unfortunately he seemed to always be getting his clothes ripped.

At the top of this, the tailor who was always helping to repair Saitama's cloth got inspiration from seeing Saitama. This tailor ended up making and giving Saitama his trademark superhero costume as a present .

It's even hinted that the costume is formed with a very special material. And do you know ? Saitama was actually really embarrassed to wear it at first !

Saitama's Cape

All great superheroes have their capes. Saitama is no different. One punch man always becomes ready to battle with his white cape. The interesting thing about his cape is that it's actually shown in red color in early part of the manga. I mean that it had been never red within the web comic.

This is presumably a stylistic choice by the manga artist Yusuke Murata. The red cape did give him a more Superman like feel especially when you consider the Saitama's abilities. The red cape more resembles to the reverse look of Anpanman. By the way, just an extra fun tidbit.

Saitama's Techniques

One punch-man is of course known for his trademark one punch move. The main point is Saitama actually has several techniques to mix these up. In reality, Saitama has a normal and serious punch set. The normal set involves two moves: the first is the consecutive normal punches. We see him use this against Boros.

The second is the two-handed consecutive normal punch. This one may be a more advanced version of the first. Here, Saitama uses both his fists and also moves twice as fast. The serious punch set includes four moves.

Animations

One of the most notable things that perfectly stand out from the one punch man anime is the animation from the actions scenes.

The action scenes of one punch man are totally amazing. Starting from the punches of Saitama, and the crazy moves of Genos to the speed of Sonic and Garou perfectly stands out.

The person we've to thank for these memorable scenes is Yoshimichi Kameda. Kameda was also responsible for a couple of action scenes in Fullmetal Alchemist.

ONE's Mob Psycho

Mob psycho 100 is additionally one among ONE's creation. It's definitely not a surprise that these series do have references to at least one another. In the manga, Saitama was seen wearing a shirt of mob Psycho 1 million when he was in his younger days.

The Mob Psycho manga is additionally seen at Saitama's place. Meanwhile, over at Mob Psycho's world, we get a slight glimpse of the one punch man manga. ONE has confirmed that Mob and Saitama don't actually sleep in an equivalent world so maybe parallel ?

Saitama's Speed

One Punch Man has been shown to be the almighty superhero with strength that rivals the gods. Saitama was able to achieve this through his restrict three-year workout plan. What you may have not taken too much note of is Saitama's impressive speed too. So just how fast is he? In the showdown with Boros, we do see Saitama fighting at his most serious.

During the fight, Saitama was thrown over to the moon. Saitama then speeds back from the moon to the earth in only one and a half seconds. In order to actually do this, Saitama had to have been moving at about 260 thousand kilometres per second. Amazing !! Isn't it ? It gets even crazier when you'd know that this is still not Saitama displaying his full power !

Saitama and the Hero Association

So, talking about Saitama and the Hero Association in this hero world. Before Saitama met Genos, he had no any idea about the Hero Association. It's funny because Saitama actually has a strong connection to it.

Three years before he became a hero, we see Saitama save the big chin kid from the crab monster. This kid ended up being the grandchild to the Multi-millionaire Mr. Chinner.

After hearing about what happened, Chinner decided to organize the heroes association so as to fight back against evil. It was always private funds too. They do briefly glanced over this within the anime after Saitama takes a hero test but within the manga, Genos put it right out there. So yes, it turns out that Saitama was the main cause for the creation of the Hero Association.
